What is heat shrink film?
Heat shrink film, whose full name is heat shrink film, is a special plastic film that is directionally stretched during the production process and shrinks when exposed to heat.
Its working principle is based on the "elastic memory" of polymers:
Production and processing (stretching and shaping): During the production process, plastic polymers (such as PE, PVC, etc.) are heated to a highly elastic state (above the glass transition temperature) and then mechanically stretched in one or two directions (unidirectional or bidirectional).
Cooling fixation: Rapid cooling in a stretched state "freezes" the molecular chain orientation structure, storing shrinkage stress inside. At this point, the film is stable.
Shrinkage upon exposure to heat (application process): When the user uses it, heat it with a heat source such as a heat gun or a heat shrink machine (usually to above 90-120°C). The molecular chains gain energy, release the "frozen" state, and the internal stress is released, so that the film shrinks rapidly along the direction it was previously stretched, and adheres tightly to the surface of any shape.
